Driving at night without your headlights on while swerving across the lanes is a really good way to get pulled over. He shouldn't have been behind the wheel and is likely heading back to the KHL, but smoking pot - assuming that's the drug he was found with - is very meh.

I actually feel a little bad for Medvedev. Coming over to another country is tough as it is. If he has a real drinking/drug problem, I hope he gets some help.
As for this being the anniversary of Game 6 of the 1987 Wales Conference final.....I've seen that video a billion times and I'm always still struck by how you can tell more poop is about to go down just by the way Dave Brown skates out onto the ice and is immediately looking to go.
It's amazing watching the video of that brawl though. They had respect for each other, they might of hated each other but you can see the respect. I can see something like that going down a lot differently today. The way they flew in there only to slam on the breaks and gather up! You don't see that anymore lol they will still fly in there and just bowl into anyone in the crowd and to me that's how necks get broken and people get seriously hurt. You also didn't see guys just grab a guy from the side and start bombing them them before they new what was happening which is another thing I could see planning out in brawls that happen today. They got organized paired and what not instead of flying in and throwing punches at everyone.
Just relieved no one was hurt. Usually in cases like that , should Medvedev had hit someone, he would walk away unharmed while the person (s) end up hurt or dead.

There's actually a reason for that
Alcohol makes you really lax, which makes you less liable to get hurt in trauma injuries. Kind of akin to getting a shot- if you tense your arm up it hurts more/for longer after.
What's the first thing your brain does when you're about to get in an accident? "OH (frank) I GOTTA PROTECT MYSELF" so you tense up. The drunk brain either just doesn't do that or it doesn't do it in time.
Isn't that poopty? I always saw that as a "reward" for drunk driving. One of those things that really pisses me off.
Somehow, the NHL's Wheel of Justice keeps finding new ways to surprise me. How Callahan doesn't even get a hearing for his board on Letang is jaw dropping to me. Factor in Bellemare's hit on Orlov getting him 1 game, Letang's slash to the throat getting nothing, and Schenn's "culmination of borderline hits" nonsense getting him 3 regular season games and I'll never understand this league...ever
Edit: And since I'm obviously rooting for the Lightning over the Pens, I'm happy Callahan will stay in the lineup..I just don't understand it

Letang came back in the game. That's the system they operate on. It was a disgusting hit where he hit a guy in the numbers a couple feet from the boards at speed. Worst of all, Callahan had his hands at Letang's neck forcing his head in.
But Letang came back so clearly it was a good hit! Just like Chimera on Voracek.

He was ever being moved...........funny how some probably thought he was - ob18
If it wasn't for the Stamkos injury, he'd have been in the AHL all season. Probably watching the playoffs as a Black Ace. Don't discount that strange turn of events changing things. He very well could have been moved this summer if it wasn't for some $12 million blood clots and the forced kiss and makeup between everyone. Things have a funny way of working out though.

I don't know he'd be in the AHL even if Stamkos didn't get hurt........You never know what they would do to spark the team or to give themselves even more skill and scoring this time of year.
It certainly benefited him that those events happened but to say he wouldn't have been put in the lineup again without that can't be discounted either,

He looks better now then he ever has - Marc D
He was a total female dog, no doubt goaded on by his agent, who he should fire this summer....but I'm with Mitch, he was probably this good. He started the season off very well. I'm not sure a dozen+ AHL games miraculously turned his game around. The narrative probably is "it lit a fire under him"...could very well be true, but it is also possible that Cooper and Yzerman actually were unfair to him...
